Real-World Test Unit: 18 Months, Zero Mold, No Gimmicks

At T4mpat Self Storage, we believe in evidence, not scare tactics. Over the past 18 months, we've kept an experimental unit under close observation to test exactly what happens to everyday items in a naturally ventilated, non-air-conditioned storage locker in Bali’s tropical climate. Inside this unit, we stored: - 🛏️ An unprotected pillow - 🪑 Wooden furniture and a wooden shelf - 🧺 Bamboo and rattan lamps - 📦 Cardboard boxes - 📺 A TV or monitor - ⚙️ Other assorted household items 👉 After a year and a half, all items remain in excellent condition. There's no Mold, no mildew, no damage — just a little bit of dust, easily wiped away. This unit was not sealed or air-conditioned. It relied purely on good passive airflow — just like every unit we offer.

Second Test Unit: Clothing & Textiles

We also have another unit with a completely different set of items — this one focused on fabrics and wearables. Stored here: - 👕 Exposed clothing (including white cloth) - 🎩 Felt hats - ⚙️ Electronics and small gear This unit has also been untouched for more than 18 months. And again — no visible Mold, no musty smell, no fabric damage. Even the white cloth is completely clean. This proves that for everyday items — clothing, furniture, electronics — you simply don’t need “climate control” if the unit is well designed and ventilated.

Real Humidity Monitoring – We Track It Daily

We’ve installed humidity monitors throughout our storage facilities to track the actual environment inside our units. Here’s what we consistently observe: - 🌧️ During heavy rain: humidity can spike up to 85% or even beyond 100% (over‑reading on meters) - 🌙 Nighttime is always more humid than daytime - 🌤️ Dry season: humidity drops to around 55–60% - ☁️ Post‑rain conditions: 70% is typical Yet even during those high‑humidity periods, our test units remain completely mold‑free. That said, we don’t encourage customers to just store their belongings carelessly. We provide clear guidance on how items should be prepared before being placed into storage to ensure the best results. Our facility design includes: ✅ Raised elevation ✅ Strong natural airflow ✅ Steel and humidity‑stable fibre‑cement board construction ✅ Excellent drainage ✅ Dehumidifiers deployed only when truly required

Although we can clearly prove that full-time air conditioning and dehumidifiers aren’t necessary, we were proud to be the first storage facility in Bali (back in 2021) to experiment with dehumidifiers when we opened our Kerobokan site. Today, we still use them selectively — only during heavy rains or when humidity levels rise unusually high — at both our Kerobokan and Denpasar facilities.
